Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
What vaccinations are required for my pet to use your grooming or boarding services?
For the safety of all our guests, we require proof that all dogs and cats are up-to-date on their core vaccinations (e.g., Rabies, Distemper, Parvo, etc.). We also strongly recommend the Bordetella (Kennel Cough) vaccine for any pet using our grooming or boarding facilities. Please bring your pet’s official veterinary records to your first appointment, or have your previous clinic fax them to us ahead of time.
Since you offer medical services and grooming/boarding, can my pet see the vet and get groomed on the same day?
Yes! One of the biggest advantages of choosing Mutt Medics is our seamless, integrated care. We can often schedule a wellness exam or vaccination update to immediately precede a grooming session, minimizing your need for multiple trips. Please mention you want to book this combination when you call so we can coordinate the timing perfectly.
What should I bring when dropping my dog off for boarding?
We encourage you to bring your pet’s regular food, pre-portioned per meal, to maintain their digestive health and comfort. You may also bring one or two small, familiar items, like a favorite blanket or toy, to help them feel at home. Please do not bring anything valuable. We provide comfortable bedding, food, and water bowls.
How often should I schedule my dog for professional grooming or bathing?
The frequency depends entirely on your dog's breed, coat type, and lifestyle. Generally, we recommend a full groom every 4-8 weeks for most breeds to prevent matting and maintain skin health. Our groomers are happy to assess your dog's specific needs during their first visit and recommend a personalized maintenance schedule.
